On behalf of our client Arek, we are looking for a System Manager for permanent employment. In this role, you will work on common information system services in the field of occupational pensions and have a concrete impact on the implementation of the Finnish occupational pension system.
The role sits within the Benefits and pensions business, customer needs and products team, and offers the opportunity to participate in meaningful, large-scale system changes in collaboration with Arek experts, customers and suppliers. The job will start as soon as the right person is found.
Role and responsibilities
As a Systems Manager, you will be responsible for the functional definition of pension accounting and pension business systems as part of a major reform project. You will play a key role in ensuring that business needs are translated into high quality and feasible specifications in a regulated environment.
Your tasks include understanding and structuring the business needs of the specifications, writing the specifications, ensuring the quality of the specification documentation and guiding the work of the specification team. You will work closely with both customers and implementation teams.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Functional definition of pension accounting and pension business systems
- Understanding customers' business needs and translating them into clear definitions
- Taking into account legislation, sectoral policies and the context in which they are defined
- Guiding project-specific definition teams and definition work
- Reviewing specifications with the implementation team and supporting implementation
- Ensuring the quality of specification documentation
How to succeed in the role
To succeed in this role, you should have several years of experience in demanding functional specifications with complex business logic.
We also hope that you have:
- Solid experience in producing specification documentation (e.g. use cases, integration descriptions, service descriptions)
- Experience of managing the specification team and other specifiers
- Good understanding of the regulated environment
- Knowledge of agile approaches
- Excellent Finnish language skills and clear communication skills
- A degree in IT from a university of applied sciences or university
You'll definitely succeed in your role if you also have:
- Experience in occupational pensions or financial/social insurance
- Expertise in modelling information systems
- Experience with Jira and Confluence tools
- Interest in using AI in specification work
- Solution-oriented, customer-focused and collaborative approach to work
- The ability to manage the bigger picture and take things forward in the long term
