We are looking for a decisive and business-minded Business Manager for Verdis Oy to lead our waste management operations in the Helsinki metropolitan area.
Verdis Oy is a nationwide provider of environmental management services. The company provides both specialist and comprehensive environmental management services to customers in the retail and industrial sectors, as well as the public sector. Verdis Oy is a major player in the sector in Finland, with a turnover of over €79 million. Verdis serves its customers with a workforce of over 520 people across more than twenty locations.
In this role, you will play a key part in leading the growth and development of Verdik’s handling business.
Roles and responsibilities
As Business Manager, you will be responsible for the overall operational management, business development and growth management of Verdiksen’s waste management operations (the Mustankorkea area, Destaclean Oy and Tehokierto Oy). You will be responsible for a turnover of approximately €15 million and a team of around 25 people. You will also serve as CEO of Tehokierto Oy and be a member of the Group’s Executive Management Team.
Your main areas of responsibility

Comprehensive operational management and development of business operations

Planning and achieving growth and profitability targets

Managing sales, customer relationships and service development

Developing operational activities and processes in collaboration with production

Operational ownership of investment and construction projects (e.g. the sorting and baling hall construction project)

Reporting and liaising with the authorities on activities

Key account sales and management

Budgeting and monitoring of KPIs

Experience

At least 7–10 years’ professional experience (e.g. in civil engineering, infrastructure, logistics or environmental services)

At least 5 years' experience in a supervisory role

Experience in managing the entire business, not just one’s own function

Experience in a role with financial responsibility

Experience of change or integration projects and of working with public authorities would be an advantage
