We carry out direct searches for executives in Oulu and elsewhere in Northern Ostrobothnia. Oulu is one of Finland’s most significant technology hubs, but the market for executives there is much smaller than in the Helsinki metropolitan area.

Companies in Oulu specialise in wireless technology, software and health technology. Many of them operate in international markets, so managers are expected to be able to work in English and have experience of group structures.
The market for senior managers in this region is narrow. There are only a limited number of suitable candidates; they know one another, and almost all of them are already in employment. Open recruitment rarely reaches those who are actually needed for the role.
Often, the solution is found outside Oulu. In such cases, the search is also a discussion about moving house and the family’s circumstances, and this needs to be discussed openly right from the start, not just at the final stage.
