Executive search in Stockholm

Our Swedish team handles assignments in the Stockholm area

We carry out direct searches for executives in Stockholm and elsewhere in Sweden. We have our own company in Sweden, as well as a local team of ten people who are familiar with the Swedish executive recruitment market and conduct searches in Swedish.

For a Finnish company establishing a business presence in Sweden, this means having a single partner in both countries. The same applies the other way round.

Direct executive search is rarely just about recruitment. It is a moment when it is worth pausing to consider what kind of expertise will take the company towards its next goals. We’ll have that discussion with you before the search begins.

In what circumstances will we be contacted?

The most common scenarios are as follows: a previous recruitment drive did not yield the desired result; a change in strategy requires expertise that is not available in-house; or the departure of a key member of staff has left a gap in the leadership team.

In all these cases, the solution is the same. Suitable candidates are already employed elsewhere and aren’t applying for any jobs, so you need to seek them out and approach them personally.

How do we carry out a search?

The search is being carried out by a Swedish team

Our local team handles assignments in Sweden in Swedish. The search is carried out by the Swedish team, rather than by a Finnish consultant working remotely, as knowledge of the market cannot be conveyed across a language barrier.

Two consultants for each recruitment drive

No one carries out a direct search on their own. Every assignment involves at least two consultants, and we select them based on who has experience in the client’s sector or the role being recruited for.

The timetable is agreed and adhered to

We agreed on the timetable straight away during the initial meeting. Our part of the process – the search for candidates and their assessment – will be completed in a few weeks, as there are several people involved.

Your experience as a candidate is reflected in your reputation

The direct recruitment process is a big deal for a candidate. The way they are treated will have a lasting impact, regardless of whether they are selected or not.

Why it’s worth having a Swedish team handle your Swedish search

The Stockholm region is by far Sweden’s largest hub for head offices, and the executive recruitment market there is more mature and competitive than in Finland. There are more candidates, but there are also more applicants vying for those positions.

Swedish recruitment culture differs from that of Finland. The tone of the process, the way salary negotiations are conducted and what candidates expect from an employer do not translate directly from Finnish. That is why the recruitment is carried out by a Swedish team rather than by a Finnish consultant working remotely.

A brief overview of the search process

A definition process that examines the company’s direction and role. A recruitment process to identify and assess candidates. Presentation and support for decision-making, in which we are involved right through to the end.

Where necessary, the assignment also includes reference checks and suitability assessments. Once the appointment has been made, the ‘First 100 Days’ coaching programme helps the new manager get off to a good start.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have an office in Stockholm?

The contact details for our Swedish operations are Vaksalagatan 2, 753 20 Uppsala, and our team serves the whole of the Stockholm area. We operate through our own company in Sweden, which has a Swedish organisation number.

How quickly can we get the candidates to appear?

The timetable is finalised right at the start. The search for and assessment of candidates typically takes us a few weeks, after which we present the options. The pace of the rest of the process depends on how quickly the interviews can be fitted into the calendar.

What is the difference between direct recruitment and headhunting?

The practical process is the same. The difference lies mainly in how high up in the organisation the search goes: direct recruitment targets senior management, whilst headhunting targets key personnel more broadly. Read more our headhunting service in Stockholm.

Together we will find the right direction.

Can the search be carried out confidentially?

Yes, and that is usually how it’s done. We do not disclose the client’s name to the candidate until both parties have a genuine interest in proceeding, nor do we advertise the vacancy anywhere.

Do you need a new manager?

Give us a call or send us a message, and we’ll go through the situation with you. We’ll be honest with you if we’re not the right partner for this application.
