Headhunting in Stockholm

Swedish team identifies key figures in the Stockholm area

We carry out executive search in Stockholm and elsewhere in Sweden. The searches are conducted by our ten-strong Swedish team, who work in Swedish and have a thorough understanding of the local market.

For a Finnish company establishing a business in Sweden, this means having a single partner in both countries.

Headhunting is about listening, not hunting. The best connections are forged when you understand both the company and the individual.

In what situations is headhunting used?

Most commonly, this is the case when an open recruitment process has already been tried and failed to produce suitable candidates, or when the role is so specialised that there are only a handful of suitable people.

In that case, there’s no point in waiting for applications. We’ll assess the field and approach those people who might be suitable for the role.

How we carry out headhunting

A local team, a local network

We reach out to candidates in the Stockholm area through our Swedish team’s own networks. This is quite different from buying a list and sending out cold messages.

We see potential before it is visible

True expertise does not always shout about itself. We recognise it from subtle signs, experience, attitude and the ability to think one step ahead.

Two consultants who know the field

At least two consultants are involved in every project. We select members for the client team who have experience either in the client’s sector or in the role in question.

The candidate experience is part of quality

For a candidate, being involved in the process is always important. It has a direct impact on the impression you leave as an employer.

What is the skills market like in Stockholm?

There are far more candidates in the Stockholm area than in Finland, but there are also far more people competing for those roles. An experienced manager receives enquiries on a regular basis, and most of them go unopened.

The difference lies in who makes contact and how. Our Swedish team approaches candidates through their own networks and in Swedish, which is quite different from a translated message from a stranger.

The contact person in Sweden is Monica Söderlund, tel. +46 70 687 0002.

The process in brief

The role is defined jointly, the field is mapped out and candidates are approached in confidence. Only once they have expressed an interest do we reveal which company is involved.

Towards the end of the process, we’ll go through the candidates with you and support you in your decision-making. Where necessary, reference checks and suitability assessments are carried out as part of the same package.

Who carries out the search?

Our Swedish team comprises ten experienced managers and specialists who carry out assignments in Swedish. Where necessary, our Finnish team also contributes to the work if the search concerns both countries.

The contact person in Sweden is Monica Söderlund, tel. +46 70 687 0002.

What sort of roles do we recruit for in Sweden?

We are recruiting for both management positions and business-critical specialist roles.

  • Country Manager and Business Management
  • Sales and Marketing Managers
  • Key figures in the economy
  • Human Resources Managers
  • Leaders of expert organisations

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have an office in Stockholm?

The contact details for our Swedish operations are Vaksalagatan 2, 753 20 Uppsala, and our team serves the whole of the Stockholm area. We operate through our own company in Sweden, which has a Swedish organisation number.

How quickly can we get the candidates to appear?

The timetable is finalised right at the start. The search for and assessment of candidates typically takes us a few weeks, after which we present the options. The pace of the rest of the process depends on how quickly the interviews can be fitted into the calendar.

What is the difference between headhunting and executive search?

The process is the same. Headhunting is an umbrella term, and executive search specifically refers to filling senior management roles. Read more direct recruitment of management staff in Stockholm.

Together we will find the right direction.

Can the search be carried out confidentially?

Yes, and that is usually how it’s done. We do not disclose the client’s name to the candidate until both parties have a genuine interest in proceeding, nor do we advertise the vacancy anywhere.

Has the role been vacant for too long?

Tell us what you’ve already tried. Let’s go through why the search hasn’t produced any results and what can be done about it.
