Headhunting in Helsinki

We find key personnel who cannot be found through job adverts

We provide headhunting services in Helsinki and across the entire Helsinki metropolitan area. Our office is located at Itämerentori 2, so we meet both clients and candidates face-to-face whenever necessary.

The Helsinki metropolitan area has the largest pool of skilled professionals in Finland, but everyone else is also aware of this. The difference lies in how well a candidate’s circumstances and motivations are understood before the first contact is made.

Headhunting is about listening, not hunting. The best connections are forged when you understand both the company and the individual.

When is headhunting worthwhile?

When a role has been vacant for a long time, when you’re receiving applications but none of the right candidates are coming forward, or when you know exactly what skills you need but don’t know who can provide them.

Headhunting differs from advertising a vacancy in that the process does not start with the applicants but with the talent pool. First, we identify who would be suitable for the role, and only then do we make contact.

How we carry out headhunting

First impressions count

In the capital region, the same person may be the subject of several enquiries at the same time. A poorly handled initial contact closes the door for good, so it is not done via mass messaging.

The potential lies in the subtle signals

Experience teaches us to recognise what good leadership really entails. That is why we recognise those people who do not merely lead, but who inspire others to grow alongside them.

Experienced managers are carrying out the search

Our consultants have themselves held senior management positions. Having led change initiatives themselves, they know what skills are required to manage them.

The candidate experience is part of quality

For a candidate, being involved in the process is always important. It has a direct impact on the impression you leave as an employer.

Why headhunting in the capital region is a case in itself

The vast majority of the headquarters of large companies and the Finnish operations of international groups are located in the Helsinki metropolitan area. This area also has the highest concentration of growth companies, private equity-backed firms and publicly owned groups.

So, whilst there is a large pool of candidates, competition for them is the fiercest in the whole country. The same person may be the subject of several recruitment drives at the same time, and a poorly handled initial contact will close the door for good.

We serve the entire Helsinki metropolitan area. In addition to Helsinki, we carry out recruitment for companies in Espoo and Vantaa, and, where necessary, we source candidates from across Finland and the other Nordic countries.

What is headhunting in practice?

First, we identify who in the sector might be suitable for the role. Only then do we approach them, one by one and on a personal basis.

We’ll present you with the options and explain the reasons behind them, support you during interviews and, if necessary, carry out reference checks and suitability assessments.

Who carries out the search?

The range of sectors covered by our searches in the Helsinki metropolitan area is the broadest in the country, and we always select experts in the relevant field for each assignment. Our consultants have themselves held senior management positions, many as managing directors or heads of human resources. There are around twenty of them in the Finnish team, and we select consultants who are experts in the client’s sector for each assignment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is your office located?

Our address is Itämerentori 2, 00180 Helsinki. We’d be happy to meet in person, but we can also hold an initial consultation remotely.

How long does the search take?

We agree on a timetable during the initial meeting and stick to it. Our part of the search and assessment process typically takes a few weeks. The overall duration depends on how quickly the final interviews and the decision can be arranged.

What is the difference between headhunting and executive search?

The process is the same. Headhunting covers a wide range of key personnel roles, whilst executive search refers to positions such as the chief executive, members of the executive board and other senior management roles. Read more direct recruitment of management staff in Helsinki.

Together we will find the right direction.

Can the search be carried out confidentially?

Yes, and that is usually how it’s done. We do not disclose the client’s name to the candidate until both parties have a genuine interest in proceeding, nor do we advertise the vacancy anywhere.

Are you looking for a key person who can’t be found through an advert?

Tell us about your situation, and we’ll work out together which type of search is best suited to it. The initial discussion is under no obligation.
